Gopher Buddies 2025 Curriculum

This summer module teaches two lessons from scripture that incorporate gold to teach about what is truly valuable. In the first lesson, Peter and John share Jesus with the lame man who is begging for money at the temple. Children will begin to understand how God also wants them to help those who are in need. The second lesson is about how the nation of Israel disobeyed God by worshiping a golden calf instead of worshiping Him. They will learn that we should only worship our God and not things.

This four-lesson foundational series uses the exodus of Israel out of Egypt to teach that there is one all-powerful God. They will be taught that this all-powerful God loves them and wants a relationship with them. This summer module uses the theme of travel to teach about Jesus’ assentation and about Heaven. In the first lesson children will learn that after Jesus told the disciples to tell others the Good News about Him, He was taken up in a cloud to Heaven. The second lesson teaches children that Heaven is a wonderful place because Jesus is there.

Children will learn how Jesus taught His disciples to pray and be given a visual reminder of how to pray using a color bracelet. They will learn that they can pray every day as Daniel did and that it is important to be humble when we pray. They will be taught how King David humbly responded when he was confronted with his sin. They will also hear how Jesus died and rose again to pay the penalty sin deserves. They will be encouraged to think of ways they can care for missionaries and other church workers. Themed Lessons
These four lessons cover holidays and themes. Christmas, Easter, Parent Night, and Friend Night.

This two-lesson character trait series highlights the importance of gratitude. Children will learn how Jesus healed ten men with leprosy, but only one man said, “Thank you.” Children will be encouraged to show gratitude. They will be encouraged to think of practical ways they can show kindness. This two-lesson character trait series teaches children about God’s faithfulness. Children will learn that God faithfully kept His promise to help Israel defeat the city of Jericho. This summer module teaches two lessons from scripture that occur on a boat. In the first lesson, Jonah runs from what God had called him to by boarding a ship going in the wrong direction. This lesson reinforces the importance of obeying God. The second lesson is about when missionary Paul faced a scary shipwreck. Children will be encouraged to pray and ask God for help when they are afraid.

This summer module tells two wild accounts from scripture that incorporate water. The first lesson is about a blind man who Jesus heals by putting mud on his eyes and telling him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. Children will begin to understand that Jesus cares for them just as He cared for the blind man. The second lesson teaches how Jesus calmed a raging sea storm. Children will be taught that Jesus is always in control, even when we feel things are wild.

This summer module teaches two lessons from scripture that incorporate sand and stones. The first lesson teaches Jesus’ parable about the wise and foolish builders. Children will learn that when they choose to read (or listen to) God’s Word and obey it, they will be like the wise man who built his house on the rock. The second lesson will teach children about how David beat Goliath with a simple stone because God was with Him. They will be encouraged to believe that God will help them with things He has asked them to do, too.

This summer module teaches two lessons from scripture that incorporate fire. They will learn about Moses’ encounter with the burning bush. The second lesson will teach about how God sent fire from Heaven to burn up Elijah’s sacrifice. Our God is the one true God.
