Beaches and Boats

Module Overview

This summer module teaches two lessons from scripture that occur on a boat. In the first lesson, Jonah runs from what God had called him to by boarding a ship going in the wrong direction. This lesson reinforces the importance of obeying God. The second lesson is about when missionary Paul faced a scary shipwreck. Children will be encouraged to pray and ask God for help when they are afraid.

Lessons

Jonah’s Fish Tale

1 
The children will learn what happened when Jonah disobeyed God when God told him to go to Nineveh. The children will begin to understand that it is important to obey God.

Paul and the Sinking Ship

2 
The Apostle Paul was on a ship headed to Rome when a big storm came. Everyone on board was very afraid. Children will be encouraged to pray and ask God to help them when they face scary things.
